I returned to piano lessons when my 8-year-old son began lessons with Laura.   I hadn't played for about 25 years, but Laura quickly brought me back up to my former level.  We moved on from there to more challenging pieces.  At the same time, she modified her teaching style to relate to my young son who was just learning to play.  For both my son and I, Laura made her teaching points effectively and appropriately for our age and interests.  He and I made tremendous gains in our playing abilities during the two years she was our teacher.  I learned to play both notes AND dynamics with personal feeling.  My son mastered the basics and  gained an enthusiasm for the instrument.  In short, Laura's students learn the joy of making music on the piano while rapidly becoming proficient in the technical aspects of playing the instrument.
